What neighborhood do you live in?

How long have you lived in that neighborhood?

19 years.

What is something most people don't know about you?

I am originally from Minnesota and actually played college football with John Schneider who is the GM for the Seattle Seahawks.

Why do you think it's important for people to shop local?

So many local business owners have passion for servicing the population of the Valley. In shopping local, the money spent to support local businesses also supports our schools and the future of our communities. People in the Valley love servicing people in the Valley.

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood/Valley?

I prefer to visit any restaurant, coffee shop, or hardware store located in the valley, compared to any other larger business.  The service is from our neighbors. I learn so much about our community be shopping in our community. The relationships in the Valley are so unique. They are unique because the majority of individuals owning and working in these businesses are citizens of the Valley.

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood/Valley?

Visiting local businesses is a treat.  We live in a small town and we support each other.  I buy my coffee from a local coffee shop. I buy my groceries locally.  I could go to a big box company to buy my home improvement supplies. Why do I shop locally? Because I support local businesses.  I want to support my local businesses because its what neighbors do.

What are your favorite restaurants in the Valley?

Il Paesano. The level of service and quality of food is something challenging to find anywhere else in the whole region.

What is something most people don't know about the business?

80% of our employees are Veterans. Our credo is to “Empower Veterans in their move from serving our country to serving our neighbors”. We donate as much as we can to Veterans in need. If we can’t find a Veteran then we donate to Value Village or Habitat for Humanity. 60% of what we take in we repurpose, recycle, or reuse. It takes time to commit to keeping items out of the landfill, but we work diligently to do what is right for our community and our environment.

Anything exciting going on that customers should know about?

Yes. Out of our five top producing areas, Snoqualmie and North Bend are both in the top 5.  We are local and the fact that North Bend which has roughly 10,000 customers has more customers than a town like Puyallup with close to 100,000 people is just a testament to how valuable building relationships in the Valley is.
