ABOUT LAROY

What neighborhood do you live in?

I live in North Bend, residing out on Moon Valley Road in our own goofy little microclimate. We’re not on the river side of the road, but weather excitement always seems to find its way into the neighborhood.

How long have you lived in that neighborhood?

I’ve lived in North Bend with my family since the summer of 2003, having lived in Seattle for many years prior to that. We still can’t believe we didn’t move out here sooner.

What is something most people don't know about you?

I love to cook and I’m a connoisseur of fine chili and barbeque! I also love fly-fishing, golf, and working on my art when I can find the time. As a fisherman, I’m a catch-and-release guy, which always tends to drives my wife crazy!

Why do you think it's important for people to shop local?

Shopping local helps build and strengthen our community, and I think we all want that. There are so many good businesses and talented people who live amongst us that it just makes perfect sense I think, and there’s nothing better than creating new relationships along the way.

Where are your favorite places to go in the neighborhood/Valley?

I like the outdoors, primarily rivers with fish in them, and there’s no shortage of places like that in this Valley!

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood/Valley?

I’m a Rotarian and I like to help out wherever I can within the community. It gives me great joy to work alongside other like-minded people in our community to provide help where its needed. This is definitely one of my favorite things.

What are your favorite restaurants in the Valley?

We tend to frequent the Iron Duck in North Bend often, and love Il Paesano’s in North Bend and the Woodman Lodge in Snoqualmie. I’ve also been known to dart up to The Pass for a midday tasty corndog from time to time.

Anything exciting going on that customers should know about?

Yes, there’s always something new and exciting going on in the ever-challenging world of architecture. Over the last several years it’s been the excitement of working in 3d versus the old 2d world we’ve lived the past in. We now do all our drawing production work in 3d, allowing us to build the design from the ground up and giving us the ability to walk Clients through the project just as if it were actually built. We love this technology!

What is something most people don't know about the business?

The business was started by two long-time (long, long, time) college classmates who came together in 2015 to do something we hadn’t done in previous firms…..have fun and focus on quality. Between the two of us, we have close to 70 years of experience as Architects.
