What neighborhood do you live in?
How long have you lived in that neighborhood?
What is something most people don't know about you?
My family has Hispanic roots and although I did not grow up speaking Spanish, my household emphasis was of Hispanic culture. This is something that I didn’t know about myself until I was an adult. Also, I love tater tots and I am terrible at social media!
Why do you think it's important for people to shop local?
How and where you spend your money matters. I think about this very often because local foods contain more nutrients and therefore are better for you to consume; additionally, they have less of a carbon footprint. Just like local foods nourish our bodies, local and small businesses nourish our city.
What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood/Valley?
We are always thankful when our girls have dance events at North Fork Farm as the view is amazing. We actually love just stepping out of our front door to hang with our neighbors, as they have become more like family during the pandemic.
What is something most people don't know about the business?
My family and I are known park hoppers via foot, bike, or scooter. I also enjoy trail running the Tanner Jean/Azalea trail, Little Si, Raging, and Tiger Mountain. We love spending time outside for the beautiful views and community.
What are your favorite restaurants in the Valley?
We enjoy Oaxaca, Huxdotters, Iron duck, and Thai Eatery.
Anything exciting going on that customers should know about?
We always offer a discovery session, which is a free 15-minute meeting that allows you to meet me and for us to chat about your needs. At GLN we focus on packages, all of which include gene testing and nutrition testing. We also offer packages for youths, which I love because it is so important to teach our kids about healthy eating habits. The youth package is valuable for all, but I highly recommend it for those in team sports, as they are asking a lot of their bodies and can be susceptible to inflammation based on their training schedule.
JESSICA HOFFMAN, RDN | Owner & Founder
At GLN we practice realism; we meet our clients where they are at in life and we work toward sustainable lifestyle and dietary changes. We are not a quick-fix nutrition plan; we focus more on lifelong goals. We do this through specialized testing that looks at your genes, as well as nutritional lab work to assess where you we need to focus on. We listen to you and your needs and tailor goals that fit you where you are today, to help get you where you want to be tomorrow.
My business is largely related to food, but I am not the food police. My job is not to shame you or guilt you into doing something. My job is to support you with your goals, listen to you and help you understand what your body is trying to tell you by using very specific gene testing, as well as nutrition testing.
